About Padimurai Tamil

Padimurai Tamil is a methodology of teaching Tamil developed by Mr. S. Rajaratnam, Founder and president of Canadian Tamil Sankam that focuses on the phonetics of the language.  This puts importance on learning the sounds and syllables within the language in order to understand the language quickly. Padimurai Tamil does not assume any of its learners have knowledge of Tamil prior to the classes. Instead, it groups students according to their language proficiency, whether it be a beginner or advanced, and teaches Tamil as a Second language. This methodology helps any and all learners build a strong foundation and proficiency in the Tamil language.

தமிழ்மொழியும் ஓர் ஒட்டுமொழி என்பதனால் தமிழ்மொழியின் அமைப்பியலின் அடிப்படையிற்தமிழையும் ஒலியன்கள், அசைவுகள், சொற்கள், தொடர்கள் எனத் தமிழின் தோற்றத்தின் வழிநின்றுகற்பிப் பதற்கான கற்பிப்தல் முறையானது திரு. சு. இராசரத்தினம் அவர்களால் உருவாக்கப்பட்டுஅதற்கமைவாக படிமுறைத்தமிழ் என்னும் நூல்கள் ஆக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. இக்கற்பித்தல் முறைமூலம்இலகுவாக விரைவாக விருப்புடன் தமிழை முற்றிலும் தெரியாதவர்களும் கற்றுவருகின்றார்கள்என்பது குறிப்பிடத் தக்கது.

Attention Parents: Nut-Free environment!* (Some students have severe nut allergies), Please do not send any snacks with any nuts in them.
Please Note:
Monthly Tamil class fees: $35 Per child. (Annual exam fee included)
Fees must be paid in advance: Sept 2024 to June 2025 as a 10-month payment OR as a 5-month fee.
Tamil class fees and book money can be paid via E-transfer to [email protected]
Book Cost:
Level 1 to 2:  3 Books - $40
Level 3:  2 Books - $ 30
Level 4 To 9:  4 Books -  $ 50
Level 10:  2 Books -  $ 30.
